To perform water and sewer pipe‐laying work, Minnesota law requires individuals to obtain a plumbing bond or be an employee of a person in compliance with the bond and insurance requirements of Minn. Stat. §326B.46, subd. 2. Individuals performing building sewer or water service installation are not required to hold a plumbers license if they have completed pipe‐laying training. Individuals who complete this class fulfill the MNDOL requirements. All Pipelayer Certification Cards issued by MUCA must have an expiration date. All MUCA certified pipelayers are now required to take a refresher course every three years.
This certifies that the cardholder has completed training through the Minnesota Utility Contractors Association and is a Certified Pipe Layer, having completed the course work in the required areas of the Minnesota Plumbing Code related to Pipe Laying as determined by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
